Spring rites

At this time of year, we rightly make time to celebrate our colleagues' milestones and achievements. And after more than two years of pandemic postponements, we were more than ready.

Last week's turnout to honor our retiring faculty and staff at the College Meeting necessitated the last-minute addition of chairs.

This week our Biologists, Chemists, and Physicists gathered to honor three years of McDonald award winners.

And yesterday in Conaton Board Room, the President and Provost hosted the Faculty Recognition Event to honor those who were tenured and promoted, were awarded the Alpha Sigma Nu Teaching Award, and have completed their service on Faculty Committee.

Many of you have told me how much you appreciate the return this year of the familiar cycle of celebrations that lead up to pomp of Commencement on May 14. (If you haven't already, remember to RSVP or volunteer to participate in that special day!)

In the meantime, I wish you all well as we head into the final week of the semester before Final Exams.
