Inauguration day!
October 28, 2021
More than a few times over the past several years, I've joined peacock processions of gowned delegates honoring another university's new president.Just last weekend, I represented Xavier as one our sister institutions welcomed their own first lay president. (That's me, with the X on my mask.)
Now it's our turn! Today is a momentous day. Many of us hadn't yet arrived on campus when, two decades ago, Xavier inaugurated Fr. Graham.
You don't want to miss this event to celebrate the presidency of Dr. Colleen Hanycz. Classes are canceled, offices closed.
So come and join me. Today. 1:30 pm. Cintas Center.
Reception to follow.
As a connoisseur of such ceremonies, I can promise you pomp, music, and ritual aplenty. Dozens of visitors from other colleges will join faculty, staff, students, alumni, local dignitaries, and neighbors to honor Dr. Hanycz. I'm eager to hear more about our new president's vision for Xavier's future. And there's usually a surprise or two as well.
Don't miss it!
