Answers, Solutions, Further Questions

Thanks to all of you who used last week's confidential survey to share with me your hopes and concerns about the year ahead.Like many of you, my own hopes were bolstered by Friday's Summer Research Symposium. Dozens of undergraduates presented the results of their summer research.
Seeking answers, crafting solutions, and sparking further questions: once again this year, their curious energy was infectious.
Thanks to the many CAS faculty who shepherded their inspiring work. I encourage you all to explore their research abstracts.
And the concerns you identified? Many of them echoed my own -- including the high (if no longer rapidly increasing) number of COVID cases in our community.
Several of you reported specific problems that you and your students experienced with the Day One book program this year. I've taken those concerns forward. I am eager to do more, though, to make sure that next semester's experience is far smoother.
