That familiar feeling

|

Are you feeling the energy on campus this week? For some of us, and for quite a number of our new students, it was the first time inside a classroom for more than a year.

The dean's office joined the festivities this week by handing out cookies for an hour in the Alter atrium — as suggested by our CAS Student Advisory Board.

In my own Goa class last night, the difference from last fall's socially distanced classroom was palpable. That familiar first-week buzz — a cocktail of excitement and nervousness — was back.

We're not done with this pandemic yet, to be sure. Yet many of you told me this week that you too felt invigorated by the return to something more like a normal campus experience.

It's good to be back. I'm ready and excited to walk through this year together.
