Becoming

Who Are Students Become - A former Jesuit superior memorably identified that as the best measure of a Jesuit Catholic university.

The students on the CAS Student Advisory Board unintentionally reminded me of this on Tuesday, as they recounted the inspiring ways, they had spent their summers.

In a week when various publications offered their own evaluations of universities, applying metrics painstakingly crafted to draw attention to themselves, I was thankful for this glimpse into who some of our students are becoming.

I was glad too, to hear the students' insights into how our college can become what we together aspire to be: a diverse, talented, highly-qualified, and appropriately supported community of interdependent students, faculty and staff.
