Xavier's Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority chapter honors contributions of African American women

The Black Girls RHOck Luncheon takes place on Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Cintas Center | February 16, 2011

Xavier’s Pi Upsilon Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority is sponsoring a luncheon on Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Cintas Center to pay tribute to leading African American women in Cincinnati. These honorees are being celebrated for their exemplary work within the greater Cincinnati community.

The event honors high school and college-age women as well as others from the community. The members of the Pi Upsilon Chapter believe these honorees achieve Xavier University’s charge, as stated in its mission, “to be men and women for others.”

The Black Girls RHOck Luncheon is from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in meeting rooms 1 and 2 in the Schiff Conference Center at Cintas. It is open to students and the public. Tickets are $7 for students and $10 for all others. Tickets are being sold in the Gallagher Student Center during lunch hours Wednesday, Feb. 16, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 18, from 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Parking for all attendees is located behind the Cintas Center.
