Xavier ranks 63rd among the top 100 universities nationwide for social media initiatives

StudentAdvisor.com, a subsidiary of the Washington Post Company, has released its first ranking of the "Top 100 Social Media Colleges and Universities." Xavier is ranked No. 63. Harvard, the birthplace of Facebook, ranks first. The entire list is at the StudentAdvisor.com web site.

"All these colleges are showing how it’s done in social media,” says Editor-in-Chief Dean Tsouvalas. “They get it.”

StudentAdvisor.com helps empower college students of all ages to confidently determine which college is the right fit for their personality, academics, budget, career path and future. It offers a number of free guides including graduate study, study abroad, single parents, admissions, student loans and dorm essentials.

One aspect of Xavier’s social media that was highlighted is Xavier's "Ask the Expert" YouTube series, which features faculty and staff briefly discussing everything from Oscar nominations to turkey dinners. Other Jesuit Universities ranked were Boston College at 43, Marquette University at 56, Georgetown University at 58 and Seattle University at 69.
