Madcap updates this classic drama by Sergei Prokofiev with giant puppets, a woodwind quintet and a new setting. The tale leaves the countryside and takes place in the bustling city where Peter, the loveable hero, lives in a high-rise apartment with his grumpy grandfather. Peter spends his summer days in the park with his cast of eccentric friends including a spoiled teenage bird, a poor homeless duck and a pickpocket cat. Things start to go awry when a Mafioso Wolf shows up and starts to bully the gang. They all join together and teach a lesson the Wolf won’t soon forget.
A parade through the auditorium in the Gallagher Student Center Theater wraps up the show while allowing the audience to become active participants. Xavier’s Department of Music is also participating in the show by providing student accompaniment.
