Adults only for this twist on the Saturday morning cartoons you remember from childhood.  Follow Spooky, the detective dog, along with his far-out hippie friend and the rest of their gang as they set out to solve the mystery of the missing pop culture icon at a creepy country fair run by a sinister couple. It won’t be an easy task as the gang faces some unexpected side effects from those delicious dog treats, suddenly break out into song and dance and tackle their own budding sexual desires. Audience participation and improvisation add to this campy and hilarious production. Please note this production is R-Rated and NOT for children.
Furthermore, the show is participating in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. This is the third time the Players have entered a show. The performance will be reviewed by two respondents, and if selected, invited to perform on the regional level in January, a prestigious honor.
In conjunction with the performance, the Players will participate in a service project volunteering 40 hours (10 people X 4 hours) with HEARTT Animal Refuge.  This organization is a non-profit, no-kill, all volunteer refuge that provides a safe home for cats and dogs until they are adopted. The audience is encouraged to bring donated items that the Players will deliver before Thanksgiving. HEARTT Wish list items include Forever postage stamps, Fancy Feast cat food, Joy Liquid dish detergent, Mr. Clean “Magic Erasers”, Simple Green (gallon containers) and new Libman sponge mops.
Plays, by their very nature, can be considered theater of conscience as they serve to make us more aware of our human condition.  Xavier Players strives to combine real-life experience in the form of meaningful service that relates to the issues presented in the plays.  We believe it is in this act of service that one truly becomes socially aware
