X-LAB to Kick Off 2011 Competition

To introduce the second year of its innovative program, the Xavier Launch-a-Business Competition will feature the chief executive officer of a Hamilton, Ohio company as the keynote speaker during X-LAB’s kickoff event.

Ken Mailender, Chairman and CEO of Mailender Inc., will talk about entrepreneurship April 4 at 1:30 p.m. in the Kennedy Lecture Hall, Room 412, Conaton Learning Commons on the Xavier University campus. The Commons is at Dana Avenue and Ledgewood Drive.

Winners of the 2010 competition also will speak about how X-LAB has helped them and their new businesses.

X-LAB is a program of the Williams College of Business at Xavier University. It selects the most determined, creative entrepreneurs with the most promising ideas to receive free consulting services and related support from faculty, MBA students and business executives affiliated with the College.

In its inaugural year, X-LAB received 166 applications and selected eight winners.
