ROTC Cadets Excel Again

September 30, 2009

Six students in the ROTC All For One Battalion at Xavier University have been recognized for consistent outstanding performance.
Every year, the US Army Cadet Command establishes a National Order of Merit List for all cadets who will be commissioned in that fiscal year. The score is based on GPA, Army physical fitness test scores, and Leadership Development and Assessment testing. This OML score is used to determine which branch of the Army they will be commissioned to, selection for active or reserve duty or other benefits like Law or Medical school, and selection for awards and recognition. This year’s list has 4,700 Cadets.
“These Cadets continue a long line of excellence in the All For One Battalion as they are recognized nationally for consistent outstanding performance over their college careers,” said Lt Col Shane Ousey, All For One Battalion Commander. “They have clearly demonstrated that they can perform at the highest levels of leadership and academics.”
The 6 AFO cadets were all recognized as DMGs – Distinguished Military Graduates – the top 20% of all 4,700 cadets.
