New Positions at Xavier

Offices of Admission and Peace & Justice See Changes | August 18, 2008


Terry C. Richards, Vice President for Student Enrollment at Xavier University, announces the following promotions, and new leadership and staff appointments in the Office of Undergraduate Admission, effective August 1:

Aaron J. Meis to Dean of Undergraduate Admission
Meis comes to Xavier from Converse College, Spartanburg, S.C., where he was Dean of Admission and Chief Enrollment Officer since 2005. Previously, he was Associate Director, Freshman Recruitment, at Loyola University Chicago, where he began his admission career in 1993. Meis earned his B.A., Political Science, and M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration degrees at Loyola.

Marianne M. Borgmann to Director of Enrollment Communication
Most recently, Borgmann was Interim Director of Admission. She has held various positions in Xavier's Office of Undergraduate Admission since 1986. In this newly created position, Borgmann will be responsible for overseeing all communications related to the recruitment and enrollment of Xavier undergraduates.

Lauren Cobble to Assistant Director of Admission
Cobble, who joined Xavier University in 2006, had held the position of admission counselor.

As a part of a more geographically diverse recruitment strategy Xavier will now have regionally based recruiters in the following key urban markets: Boston, Chicago and Denver. These 3 regions will be managed by the following regional recruitment directors:

Jason Cloutier to Regional Recruitment Director, New England Territory
Cloutier comes to Xavier University from Loyola University Chicago, where he had been the East Coast regional recruiter for the last four years. Previously, he spent four years as a regional representative for Seton Hall University.

Julie Nelson to Regional Recruitment Director, Greater Chicago Area
Nelson comes to Xavier University from Lewis University (Illinois), where she was director of transfer admission. Julie also was the Chicago admission coordinator for Bradley University for eight years.

Rae-Anne Mena to Regional Recruitment Director, Western Region
Mena comes to Xavier University from Loyola University New Orleans for which she established its western regional office, located in Denver, CO. From 1997-2006, Mena held various positions in the office of admission on the Loyola New Orleans campus, including four years as the university's northeast regional representative.
Dave Johnson, Director of Peace & Justice Programs, announces that Molly Robertshaw, a Xavier 2003 alumna, will join Peace & Justice Programs as Assistant Director on September 2nd. She has a Master's in Social Work with an emphasis in community organizing and social systems. In addition to extensive contacts with Cincinnati-based service and social justice organizations, she brings international grassroots organizing experience and the capacity to connect with Xavier students.
