Dana Avenue at Xavier is closed through Friday because of weather and construction

Students and visitors to campus can find alternative parking areas | April 26, 2011

The City of Cincinnati has closed Dana Avenue at Xavier from Monday, April 25, through Friday, April 29, because of the recent heavy rains. The parking lot for visitors to the Office of Admission remains open and accessible from the Ledgewood Drive intersection with Dana.

The closure affects the stretch of Dana between Ledgewood Drive and Victory Parkway. City officials said the heavy rains have made vehicular travel immediately adjacent to the ongoing Greater Cincinnati Water Works construction excavations unsafe.

Marked detours direct drivers around the closure site using Victory Parkway, Jonathan Avenue and Woodburn Avenue at Ledgewood. Drivers can access University Drive and The Village apartments from Victory Parkway. The Alumni Center parking lot is also accessible for employees from Victory Parkway.

Visitors to the Office of Admission can learn more about the parking conditions at the Office of Admission's visit page. Alternative parking is available behind the Cintas Center, near the Cohen Center and at various other locations around campus. The campus map online shows designated parking areas. Updates about the closure can be viewed at Xavier's campus safety web site.
