Xavier’s annual gathering of alumni, renamed Alumni Weekend, continues through Saturday, Nov. 8, with events on campus including the men's basketball team's first exhibition game tonight, Friday, Nov. 7.
Formerly known as Reunion Weekend, Alumni Weekend 2008 was moved from its traditional time frame in June to the fall when the campus is in high gear and classes are in session. It began on Thursday, Nov. 6, with the arrival of returning graduates of Xavier and Edgecliff College, with special recognition for those alumni from graduating classes ending in 3 and 8.
In addition to basketball, alumni are enjoying additional athletic events and dozens of educational, cultural and other planned activities. These include tours of the sites of the construction of new campus facilities, a look at the presidential election with Professor Gene Beaupré, the State of the University address by President Michael J. Graham, S.J., and a Club Football game and pig roast.
Interested alumni can learn more about all the events that are planned and register online at the Alumni Weekend web site.
