Xavier employees help out at local community non-profits during a campuswide day of service

Some of the work was streamed live on UStream | August 9, 2012

More than 120 employees of Xavier University are engaging in service work today, Thursday, Aug. 9, at nine sites near campus as part of the Xavier Day of Service. This valuable opportunity helps to build community with colleagues while providing needed support to several community partners in a way that reflects Xavier’s mission and Jesuit heritage.

The service portion of the day concludes with a cookout on campus. The service work at the sites was streamed live on UStream so those employees who could not attend could see what their colleagues were doing.

Some of the service sites include the NEXUS Gardens community garden Xavier shares with Norwood and Evanston, the Freestore Food Bank warehouse and Crayons to Computers that supplies local teachers with donated classroom materials.
