Cintas Center scoreboard and graphics system are being replaced with a higher resolution screen

Construction on the new system began Monday, June 7, and will be completed by July 17 | June 8, 2010

Work is underway to replace the scoreboard system hanging above and around the Cintas Center arena. The major construction upgrade to the scoreboard and graphics systems includes a new center-hung scoreboard, a north scoreboard and fascia ribbon boards.

The center-hung scoreboard main screen's 16mm pixel pitch is being replaced with a 10mm pitch, effectively doubling the resolution of the current board. Construction work began on Monday, June 7.

"This is an exciting joint venture between Xavier University and our marketing partner, Xavier Sports Properties," said Xavier Associate Vice President and Athletic Director Mike Bobinski. "It will enhance the event experience for everyone who visits Cintas Center and will open up some exciting sponsorship opportunities."

The job requires the use of heavy construction equipment during much of the process. Fans are being asked to use the video and photo posts on to get updates on changes during the process rather than coming to the Cintas Center.

The new scoreboard and video system is slated to be operational by mid-July. The first event to use the new system will be the inspirational presentation by Fr. John Corapi on July 17.The first Xavier athletic event to utilize the new scoreboard and video system will be a volleyball tournament when Xavier hosts the Xavier Invitational on Sept. 3 and Sept. 4.

Cintas Center, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, opened for the 2000-2001 school year.
