The Xavier University men’s basketball team has finalized plans to square off against Duke University during the 2008-2009 season.  The Musketeers will take on the Blue Devils on Saturday, Dec. 20, at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m., and the contest will be televised nationally on CBS.

The contest marks the first time a regular-season Xavier game will be showcased on CBS. XU has appeared on CBS during NCAA Tournament action 11 times in the last five years. Duke defeated Xavier by a 65-60 count in the second round of the 1987 NCAA Tournament and by a 66-63 margin in the 2004 NCAA Elite Eight. The Musketeers also traveled to Duke on Dec. 4, 1993, and dropped an 82-60 decision at Cameron Indoor Arena.
