Xavier and UC Presidents Engage in Crosstown Speakout

Two universities to discuss efforts and collaborations | January 23, 2008

Cincinnati is blessed with a number of fine institutions of higher learning. The Crosstown Speakout is a new event during which the presidents of two institutions, Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati, will speak about their school and how the two work together. Xavier President Michael Graham, S.J., and UC President Nancy Zimpher will speak in Xavier’s Gallagher Student Center Theatre on Thursday, February 7 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Rather than the often heated rivalry that exists on the basketball court, this exchange will highlight the cooperation and unique qualities of each school.

“Like the Crosstown Helpout, which has occurred annually for ten years and drawn participants from both universities, the Crosstown Speakout highlights the cooperation between Xavier and UC and their common role as valued community resources,” said Gene Beaupré, Xavier’s director of Government Relations.
