India's role in international business is the focus of upcoming daylong conference

Undersecretary of commerce for international trade Frank Lavin to offer the day's keynote address | September 1, 2006

Xavier and the Southern Ohio District Export Council (SODEC) are highlighting India and its role in international business with an all-day conference on Thursday, Sept. 14, in the Cintas Center. The conference includes a luncheon keynote address from Frank Lavin, undersecretary of commerce for international trade.

Graduate and undergraduate students and faculty from the Williams College of Business are invited to attend, free of charge, and the event is open to the public for $50 for both the seminar and the luncheon, or $25 for the luncheon only. Corporate packages are also available.

Representatives from the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Williams College of Business, and both American and Indian companies and organizations will be part of the seminar. Topics to discuss include business and economic overview, economic challenges, tips for success, U.S.-India commercial dialogue and strategic alliance. A résumé table is also available for Xavier students.
