Accounting students help prepare tax returns for students, local residents

Alumni who are CPA tax professionals are assisting in review process | February 1, 2006

University accounting students are preparing tax returns for low income and elderly taxpayers, as well as students, on Wednesday evenings, 5:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m., from Feb. 15 through April 12.

The students are offering free basic federal and state income tax assistance to the Xavier, Norwood, Evanston and Avondale communities through the IRS sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Xavier alumni who are CPA tax professionals are assisting in the review process.

Individuals can call 513 745-3236 to schedule an appointment. The students are seting up on the second floor of Schott Hall on Dana Avenue.

Assistance is available from 5:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on the following Wednesdays:
