Seniors and parents gear up for graduation

Annual Commencement Countdown event provides information to make transition from college life to working world smoother | March 11, 2005

Seniors getting ready to graduate in May prepared for the big day with Commencement Countdown 2005, the annual graduation preparation program. The event took place Tuesday, March 15, and Wednesday, March 16.

The countdown was designed to help seniors and their parents with pre-commencement responsibilities, providing information to help students make the transition from college life to the working world.

Student and parents perused information tables set up by departments from across the campus to receive information on the legacy program, paying off loans, graduation announcements, updated commencement details, alumni ALL Card, graduate programs, job opportunities, and graduation portraits.

There were refreshments and a special alumni keepsake gift for each graduate as well as a chance to win cash prizes, an Apple iPod Shuffle, a 2005 class ring or a senior week package.

Graduation is Saturday, May 14. The national alumni association, in collaboration with the senior year experience committee, sponsors Commencement Countdown 2005.
