Major gospel music tour stops at Cintas Center on Feb. 19

The third annual Sisters in the Spirit concert visited the Cintas Center on Feb. 19, at 8:00 p.m. Featured artists included Juanita Bynum, Yolanda Adams, Kelly Price, Martha Munizzi, Rizen, and Shelia E. The tour represented the unity and strength of women today through gospel music.

Shelia E., who doubled as the music director for the concert, has played with Diana Ross, Ringo Starr, Babyface, Marvin Gaye and Prince. She's also a respected humanitarian working to increase breast cancer awareness and youth education.

Bynum is an accomplished author of books about self-improvement and faith, most notably Matters of the Heart, Get Off the Train and A Heart for Jesus. Adams is a Grammy Award-winning vocalist, and has earned 13 Stellar Music Gospel awards.

Munizzi is the music pastor at Faithworld Church in Orlando, Fla., and has recorded three best-selling albums, "When He Came," "The Best is Yet to Come" and "Say the Name." Price has recorded two platinum albums, titled, "Soul of a Women" and "Mirror Mirror."

Saginaw, Mich., natives Adriann and Aundrea Lewis, Knika Trigg and Ashley Jones make up the band Rizen. Their debut album, "RiZen," received numerous 2004 Dove and Stellar Gospel Music nominations.
