Reflection and celebration for 2004 graduates

Classes meet for the last time this week as students prepare for final exams | April 26, 2004

The 2003-2004 school year ends this week as students enter their classrooms for the last time this semester. Several events this week are related to graduation.

This week’s coffee hour is dedicated to the 2004 graduates as faculty, staff and students gather one last time. The coffee hour takes place on Wednesday, April 28, at 3:30 p.m. in the Gallagher Student Center clocktower lounge. For more information, call 513 745-2864 or e-mail

Campus ministry offers two evenings of reflection entitled “Twilight” for students to look back on this school year and forward to the next. Students who live in Husman or Kuhlman residence halls are meeting on Monday, April 26, at 9:00 p.m. in the Kuhlman Hall chapel. On Thursday, April 29, residents of Brockman or Buenger residence halls meet at 9:00 p.m. in the Buenger Hall chapel. For more information, call 513 745-3567.

The department of occupational therapy honors its graduates on Tuesday, April 27, when members of the 2004 graduating class present their research papers. The symposium begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Conaton Board Room located in Schmidt Hall. The presentations are the culmination of the year's work. For more information, e-mail

Also this week, the department hosts the Ohio Occupational Therapy Association Cincinnati district’s presentation of “Autism through the Ages: A School-Based Perspective” on Thursday, April 29, from 4:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. in the Conaton Board Room located in Schmidt Hall. A panel is presenting tips on goal-writing and intervention for people of all ages with autism. Immediately following the presentation is a special reception for the Virginia Scardina Award of Excellence. Those who attend have an opportunity to earn two continuing education credits. Faculty, staff and students are discussing public diplomacy in the weekly "Great Decisions" book discussion group. The discussion takes place on Tuesday, April 27, from 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. in the Romero international center in the Gallagher Student Center. The foreign policy discussion is co-sponsored by the office of international student services and peace and justice programs. Cost of the book is $5. The center for career and leadership development continues its professional experience program talks on Thursday, April 28, at 10:30 a.m. in the office located in the Gallagher Student Center. Musketeers continue their quest for victory on the playing field this week. The women's golf team remains at the CAA Championships in Midlothian, Va., on Monday and Tuesday, while the baseball team is on the road at Indiana State University on Tuesday for a 4:00 p.m. game.
