Women's basketball team drops game to Richmond in OT

Freshman Suntana Granderson and sophomore Tara Boothe scored 24 points apiece in Monday night's women's basketball game against the University of Richmond at the Cintas Center, but it wasn’t enough as Xavier fell 82-79 in overtime.

Granderson’s point total was a career high, as were her eight rebounds. Her three-point basket with 1.2 seconds left in regulation tied the game at 69-all and sent it to overtime. Boothe had seven rebounds and six assists in the game while playing all 45 minutes.

Xavier falls to 8-5 overall this season and 0-2 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Richmond is 10-3 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

Xavier returns to action at noon on Friday, Jan. 9, at St. Bonaventure.
