Visitors from Seoul Korea Public School observe classes, attend workshop | December 12, 2003

Sixteen supervisors, principals and teachers from Seoul Korea Public School system are visiting campus on Friday, Dec. 12. The group is attending a workshop and observing classes at the Xavier University Montessori Lab School.

Throughout the past several years, Xavier has been active in helping the public schools in Seoul set up Montessori programs. Under the guidance of Montessori director Beth Bronsil, Xavier has become an international leader in Montessori education. Many of the teachers who are now working in Montessori education in Seoul were educated at Xavier.

Friday, the Korean educators are observing classes at the University's Montessori Lab School from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m., after which they will have an opportunity to learn more about what they observed in a question-and-answer session. After lunch, they'll conclude their visit by attending a workshop titled "Math in the Montessori School" until 3:00 p.m.

The educators arrived in Cincinnati on Tuesday, Dec. 9. Since arriving, they also have visited Dater Montessori School and Mercy Montessori Center. The group is visiting Montessori Schools in Canada before returning to Seoul on Dec. 19.
