Women's basketball signs four players

New recruits are highly regarded first class for new coach Kevin McGuff | November 26, 2002

Kevin McGuff, the new women's basketball coach, signed four players to national letters of intent during the early signing period. The players include Chenara Wilson, a 6-foot-2 forward from Cleveland, Chelsea Chowning, a 6-foot guard from Lexington, Miranda Green, a 5-foot-6 point guard from Indianapolis, and Michelle Miller, a 5-foot-11 shooting guard from Cincinnati. The current issue of Xavier magazine profiles McGuff and takes a look at his efforts to search the country for new players. "This program can attract some quality student-athletes," he says in the story. "We just need to get kids to campus." While he admits he can't sell his experience to the recruits at this point, his plan is to sell his passion for the University. Coaching at Xavier was the only job he ever wanted, he says.
