Xavier first university to offer new national alumni ALL Card program

All alumni to receive card redeemable for discounts at host of national retailers | September 10, 2003

Xavier alumni may remember ALL Cards from their days on campus, where they are used as student IDs and for other perks around the University. This fall, Xavier will be the first university in the nation to provide all alumni with their own version of the ALL Card. The cards, which are being mailed to all alumni for free this fall, are good for much more than just identification—discounts and special offers from a whole host of national retailers, to be exact.

Xavier is pioneering the alumni ALL Card program through a partnership with the Cincinnati-based myALLcard company.

Not only will the alumni ALL Card be useful on visits back to Xavier for discounts at the bookstore and on other campus services, but it will serve alumni nationwide. U.S. Bank, Blockbuster Video, Best Buy and L.L. Bean are just a few of the companies who have signed on to offer Xavier alumni discounts when they present their alumni ALL cards. Alumni can log onto www.myALLcard.com for a full list of participating businesses and for additional special offers.

"This is unique in the marketplace," says Joe Ventura, executive director of Xavier's national alumni association. "Putting this card into the hands of our alumni will provide real value."

Director of auxiliary services for Xavier, Tom Barlow, designed the current student ALL Card 10 years ago. Since then, the card has won national awards, and people from as far away as Russia have come to Xavier to study the idea and its application.

"This is a great natural fit for the alumni program," Barlow says. "It's an ever-living product, and truly one of the best billboards Xavier has."

Alumni should watch their mailboxes for their ALL cards this fall. For more information, contact Ventura at 513 745-2078 or Barlow at 513 745-4281.
