The program, a joint effort between the department of athletics and TIAA-CREF, aims to encourage reading throughout the summer. To participate in the first annual Musketeer Reading Program, children should read 10 books and complete the back of the reading program bookmark, which must be verified with a supervising adult's signature. Bookmarks must be returned by Monday, Sept. 1. Participants who return completed bookmarks receive a Xavier/TIAA-CREF school supply kit and a program card for free admission to regular season 2003-04 athletic contests for soccer, volleyball, baseball and women's basketball teams. To receive bookmarks, contact Lori Beckman at 513 745-3388. For additional information, visit or call 513 745-3378. Benefits also are available for local adult Musketeer fans through Xavier gold cards, which are good for 10 adult admissions at half price and can be used at any home event on campus except men's basketball games. Gold cards cost $25.
