Classical pianist Brian Ganz performs

Repertoire features selections by Mozart, Chopin and Beethoven | October 25, 2002

Brian Ganz, one of the leading pianists of this generation, performs works by classical composers including Mozart and Chopin for the Xavier classical piano, guitar and jazz series on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 2:30 p.m. in the Gallagher Student Center theater. Ganz is a graduate of the Peabody Institute of John Hopkins University and is currently a resident musician and member of the piano faculty at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. He was the first-prize winner in the 1989 Marguerite Long/Jacques Thibaud International Piano Competition in Paris and recipient of a Beethoven Fellowship by the American Pianists Association. Ganz has appeared as a soloist with many American orchestras, including the St. Louis Symphony, the National Symphony and the Baltimore Symphony, as well as with orchestras in Belgium, France and England.
