Dr. Jaylene Schaefer recently joined the faculty of Xavier University. Her degrees include a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Social Work from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio; an M.S.W. from the University of Kentucky and a PhD in Social Work from Indiana University. Dr. Schaefer's area of research is the prevention of child abuse and neglect and she comes to Xavier with extensive practice experience in program administration, program evaluation, and medical social work. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker in the State of Ohio and is a trainer for the Partners in Parenting Education (PIPE) Curriculum, Brazelton's Touchpoints Model, Nursing Child Assessment Satellite Training (NCAST), and Team Strategies & Tools to Enhance Performance & Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS).
