The month of September is Community Action Month in honor of Community Action Day (CAD). CAD is a program that was started 10 years ago by the Dorothy Day Center for Faith & Justice. It is the University’s largest service experience that Xavier students, faculty, staff, and alumni – regardless of where they are on their service journey – are invited to learn from, grow with, and serve the communities that exist beyond the confines of our university. With a focus on meaningful service accompanied by reflection, CAD seeks to spark compassion for and connection with oneself, the Xavier community past and present, local service agencies, and the neighborhoods and members of your community.
As alumni, family and friends, we continue that tradition with organized efforts across the US through various Alumni Chapters and Communities. We hope that you will consider joining the Xavier community in making an impact.
Below are a list of service experiences being planned in the month of September.
** Check back frequently for additional locations. Don’t see your area listed and want to organize something in your community? Contact Becky Jackson, Director of Alumni Engagement at firstname.lastname@example.org **
Thank you to all chapters that participated this year! More information will become available in Summer 2019 for participation next fall.
