Fr. Graham addresses State of the University
As he does each year, University President Michael J. Graham, S.J., offered a "State of the University" update to a gathering of University employees in September. Now in his 10th year as president, Graham said he was entering his "second presidency" and gave a vision of where Xavier is and where it is headed.

Men's basketball team gets new look this season
The men's basketball team will have a new look this season—literally. After signing a five-year contract with Nike, the sports equipment giant designed new white, blue and gray uniforms for the team, which include a fashionable X down the side of the shorts instead of a single stripe. It also designed a throwback jersey for a nationally televised game. Official replica jerseys are set to go on sale in mid-October.

Greg Mortenson helps launch new faith and justice center
New York Times bestselling author Greg Mortenson helped launch Xavier's new Dorothy Day Center for Faith and Justice with a sold-out lecture at the Cintas Center. In an attempt to promote peace, Mortenson has built more than 100 schools in Afghanistan and Pakistan. |

Entrepreneurship ranking up to 11th nationally
Xavier's undergraduate business entrepreneurship program is ranked 11th best in the nation according to rankings in The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine. This is the seventh consecutive year that Xavier has been recognized among the top schools in the nation for its entrepreneurship program, which moved up in the rankings from 19th last year. |

Xavier hosting health, safety, environment conference
Dr. John Howard, director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and coordinator of the World Trade Center Health Programs, is speaking at the University's Economics of Stewardship and Sustainability: Health, Safety and the Environment 2010 Conference, which takes place Thursday, Oct. 28, and Friday, Oct. 29, at the Cintas Center. Harris, Phillips named to Wooden Top 30 list
For the third consecutive season, senior Ta'Shia Phillips of the women's basketball team was named to the Wooden Award Preseason Top 30 list. Senior Amber Harris also made the preseason list. The women tipoff their season Nov. 6 against Bellarmine College at 2:00 p.m. at Cintas. |

XLC creates new leadership program
The Xavier Leadership Center is adding a new program to its arsenal of business leadership offerings: Influencing Without Authority. The program is led by Rocco Dal Vera, a voice and speech expert who combines techniques for relationship leadership with micro-messaging and neuro-linguistic programming to help participants understand the messages they're sending and to better read those same signals and others. |

Xavier adds five new members to Board of Trustees
The University elected five new members to its Board of Trustees during its September board meeting: Donna Jones Baker, president and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati; Bruce Brown, chief technology officer for Procter & Gamble; Vincent Caponi, CEO of St. Vincent Health; David Joyce, president and CEO of GE Aviation; and Jim Wainscott, chairman, president and CEO of AK Steel Corp. Brown, Joyce and Caponi are Xavier alumni. |

Reunion Weekend is now less than a month away, but it's not too late get in on the fun. Registration is available online, where there's a complete listing of scheduled events, costs and times.
