Posey heads hall inductees

Former Musketeer and current NBA basketball standout James Posey, volleyball star Sara E. Bachus and former athletic director Jeffrey Fogleson were inducted into Xavier’s P. Douglas O’Keefe Athletic Hall of Fame in ceremonies held Sept. 12 in the James and Caroline Duff Banquet Center at the Cintas Center. The latest inductees brought membership in the hall to 102.

Sharing the Spirit

A group of about 800 Xavier community members crowded the residential mall Sept. 5 for the 2008 Spirit Celebration. The group attended Mass celebrated by University President Michael J. Graham, S.J., enjoyed a wide range of entertainment, took hot air balloon rides and shared in a buffet dinner.

Health Services Administration turns 50

Xavier’s Health Services Administration program marks its 50th birthday with a daylong celebration Oct. 10. The event kicks off at 8:00 a.m. with a breakfast buffet and ends at 11:00 p.m. Featured activities include a panel discussion, a reception, a dinner and a keynote address by Jeff Goldsmith, president of Health Futures and associate professor of public health sciences at the University of Virginia.

Xavier vs. Duke travel packages

Travel packages are now available for the Dec. 20 men’s basketball game versus Duke, to be played at IZOD Center in New Jersey. The Department of Athletics has teamed with The Travel Authority and Champion Sports Tours to provide Musketeer fans a special experience as well as access to a limited number of game tickets and travel accommodations for the highly anticipated matchup.

Political forum reservations

Reservations are now being accepted for A Closer Look at Election 2008, Xavier's special presidential election panel featuring nationally known political experts Donna Brazile, Mike Murphy, Joe Trippi and John Kasich. The event is Oct. 20, in the Cintas Center.
