University Plans New Buildings
To keep pace with student demand, plans are in the works for the construction of a new dormitory and a new classroom building, the latter to replace Alter Hall. The new dorm is tentatively slated for completion by the start of the fall 2011 semester with the new classroom building following in early 2012. |

Baseball Completes Winningest Season Ever
The Xavier baseball team ended its record-breaking 2009 campaign with a 12-5 loss to highly ranked Rice Sunday afternoon at Reckling Park in Houston. The loss marked the team's elimination from its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. As the 2009 Atlantic 10 Champion, Xavier ends the season with 39 wins and 21 losses, a school record for wins in a season. |

Krishnan New WCB Associate Dean
Hema Krishnan is the new associate dean of the Williams College of Business. She replaces Raghu Tadepalli who is leaving Xavier to become the Murata Dean of the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College in Massachusetts. Krishnan is a nationally known scholar with an outstanding portfolio of teaching, research and service. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where she earned her doctorate in 1993 in the area of strategic management. She joined Xavier in 1993 and became a full professor in 2005. |

Graduate Programs Expo
Xavier is offering a graduate programs expo on Monday, June 8, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. in the Schiff Family Conference Center at the Cintas Center. The expo brings together information about all of the University's graduate programs. Faculty and staff will be on hand to answer questions and to present details about each program. The event is free and open to anyone wanting to learn more about graduate study at Xavier. |

Phillips Finalist for USA University Games Team
Women's basketball standout Ta'Shia Phillips has been selected one of 14 finalists for the USA Basketball Women's World University Games Team following three days of trials at the U.S. Olympic training center in Colorado Springs, Colo. The finalists were selected by the USA Basketball Women's Junior National Team Committee. The finalists return to Colorado Springs on June 18 and train through June 25, when the team departs for the 2009 World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia. The 12-member roster will be announced prior to the team's departure. |

TAP/Xavier Pro-Am June 20
The 15th annual Xavier TAP/Pro-Am is Saturday, June 20. Each year, this event helps to bring in more than $35,000 for the University's tennis programs. The tournament starts at noon at Lunken Playfield and concludes with a dinner at 6:30 pm. at Maketewah Country Club. The event features a silent auction with a range of prizes, and a live auction with such highlights as trips to the 2009 World Series, Crosstown Shootout packages, a dinner with head men's basketball coach Chris Mack and chances to win the use of condominiums in tropical destinations.
