Xavier named best value ... again

Kiplinger’s Personal Finance lists Xavier as one of the top 50 private universities in the country in its publication, “100 Best Values in Private Colleges,” which is divided into private universities and private liberal arts colleges. The ranking is one of several accolades received by the University during the past academic year.

John McCain stages event at Xavier

2008 Presidential Candidate Senator John McCain held a town hall meeting at Xavier on Thursday, June 26. McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, spoke to an invitation-only crowd of undecided voters from noon to 1:00 p.m. in Schmidt Hall's Conaton Board Room. The candidate was in Cincinnati for a fundraiser, and his staff contacted the University to ask for use of the facility.

Freshman center on USA Elite U-19 team

Incoming freshman basketball player Kenny Frease recently traveled to France as part of the 12-man USA National Elite U-19 Team that competed in a tournament against teams from seven other countries. Frease, a 7-foot, 265-pound center from Ohio's Massillon Perry High School, was a Sporting News honorable mention prep All-American and was No. 42 in the final Rivals.com ranking.

Ingber heads interfaith initiative

Rabbi Abie Ingber became Xavier’s founding director for the Office of Interfaith Community Engagement on July 1. A member of the Mission and Identity discernment group and long associated with a number of interfaith initiatives on campus, Ingber will work to create community through interfaith dialogue at Xavier, in Cincinnati and on the national level.
