College Sponsoring Florence Freedom Reading Program

The College of Social Sciences, Health and Education is partnering with the Florence Freedom—a local minor league baseball team—in which students in 18 area schools can earn free tickets for reading.

Women's Center Hosts '1000 PeaceWomen' Exhibit

The Women’s Center is hosting “1000 PeaceWomen,” an exhibit aimed at connecting and strengthening women's peace efforts around the globe. The exhibit opens on Jan. 16 and is open from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

University Launches Jesuit Resource Site

The Division of Mission and Identity launched a new web site, www.jesuitresource.org, which includes a wide range of resources relating to Jesuit education, Jesuit history and Xavier’s Jesuit mission and identity as well as a section on Ignatian resources.

Students Establish Research Station in Costa Rica

A team of faculty and students is establishing a research station at Morgan's Jungle Lodge and Center for Rain Forest Education on Costa Rica's remote Osa Peninsula. They are spending two weeks doing research and are returning just in time for the start of classes on Jan. 14.
