Xavier player a finalist for Lowe's Senior CLASS Award
Amber Harris, a senior forward for the women's Musketeers, is a finalist for an award that recognizes players who excel in community, classroom, character and competition. Harris is one of 10 women finalists for the award, selected from a pool of 60 candidates announced in November. The award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. Vote for Harris on the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award website, or on the Facebook fan page through March 20. (Fans can vote once per day, so vote early and vote often.) Fan votes will be combined with media and coaches' votes and the award winner will be announced at the NCAA Women's Final Four in Indianapolis. In January, Harris was also named to the John R. Wooden Award Midseason Top 20 list.

Xavier makes new Montessori, Cristo Rey connections

As a partner school, Xavier will help Cristo Rey students through scholarship programs, job sponsorships and pre-college summer enrichment programs. Cristo Rey high schools offer urban students the chance to finance their education through corporate work-study programs in which they gain job experience, self-confidence and an understanding of the relevance of their education.
