Xavier alumnus Michael Runyan killed in Iraq
First Lieutenant Michael Runyan, a 2008 criminal justice graduate and member of the Army ROTC program, was killed in action in the Diyala Province in Iraq when his convoy was attacked and an improvised expolsive devise (IED) detonated near his truck. He was buried Sunday, Aug. 1, in his hometown of Newark, Ohio. The Xavier ROTC web site offers a tribute of Runyan.

Dawn Makley, a 2007 chemical science and biology major co-authored an article with 1992 alumnus Jeffrey Johnston, a chemistry professor at Vanderbilt University, in the journal Nature about their research, which is expected to aid medicinal chemists in making biologically active compounds that fight disease. |

Men's and women's season basketball tickets now on sale
Season tickets for both men's and women's basketball are now on sale. Ticket prices for the women's team start at $50. Men's tickets begin at $290. Last year, the men's team averaged 10,123 fans per game, which is 98.7 percent of capacity. |
