Xavier ranks 17th among the most prestigious men's college basketball programs in the nation, according to ESPN. Xavier is the highest-ranked school without a Final Four appearance on the recently released list, which ranks programs based on their performance since 1984-1985. And yes, the Musketeers rank two spots ahead of their archrival, the University of Cincinnati Bearcats.

Xavier's School of Nursing is adding a new concentration to its Master of Science in Nursing program with an $809,090 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The grant will be used to develop a Clinical Nurse Leader concentration within the master's program. The Clinical Nurse Leader is a national initiative developed by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing in 2004 to improve health care delivery systems and increase nurse's job satisfaction and long-term retention.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. speaks on "Our Environmental Destiny" as part of Xavier's Ethics/Religion and Society lecture series at 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 2 in the Schiff Conference and Banquet Center at the Cintas Center. Kennedy, a clinical professor and supervising attorney at Pace University School of Law's Environmental Litigation Clinic, was named one of Time magazine's "Heroes of the Planet" for his work in restoring the Hudson River.

Sales of the 2007-2008 X Shirt helped raised $7,545 for the Greater Cincinnati Coalition for the Homeless. The X Shirt is a line of annual collectible T-shirts designed by a team of campus representatives and students, and the money raised from sales each year goes to charity.
