Global Supply Chain & CSCP Exam Prep Program

This program focuses on all aspects of the Global Supply Chain, including the integration and interaction of sourcing, procurement, logistics, suppliers and customers. This program also focuses on preparing the participants for the Certified Supply Chain Management (CSCP) Exam, recognized worldwide as the standard of professional competence in Supply Chain Management by APICS, the Association for Operations Management.

Global Forces and Drivers One (1) three-hour session

This introduction will enable participants to explore and discuss the impact of global and national forces impacting the economy, as well as how these trends impact the role of the supply chain. Participants will hear and see thought provoking data, charts, and/or articles that bear on the global business environment. Participants will engage in discussion about how – or if - these forces impact their business.

  • Forces and drivers that may impact the market. What opportunities and threats exist?
  • Business trends to watch in 2009 and beyond

Understanding Global Supply Chain Strategy Three (3) hour sessions

The objective of this module is to allow participants to think more broadly regarding the impact of supply chain management as part of an overall strategy. Various types of services that are or could be sourced globally will be discussed. We will consider risks and rewards associated with using different types of supply chain models.

  • Definition of Supply Chain
  • Why is it now a global game
  • Global Sourcing as a strategic Initiative

CSCP Exam Prep Twelve (12) three-hour sessions

This objective of this module focuses on preparing the participants for the Certified Supply Chain Management (CSCP) Exam, recognized worldwide as the standard of professional competence in Supply Chain Management by APICS, the Association for Operations Management.

Supply Chain Management Fundamentals

Three (3) hour sessions

  • Explore how successful supply chain management adds value to your organization
  • Understand the supply chain management processes
  • Develop a supply chain strategy that aligns with the corporate strategy
  • Assess and measure the effectiveness of supply chains
  • Establish a continuous improvement process for supply chains
  • Understand the importance of supply chain design and its continually evolving capabilities

Building Competitive Operations, Planning and Logistics

Three (3) hour sessions

  • Understand natural dynamics within the supply chain to optimize performance and increase profitability
  • Asses the value of demands and reduce complexity in demand planning
  • Establish collaborations to replace or improve demand estimates
  • Include supply chain factors in product designs
  • Align distribution and transportation options with supply chain strategy
  • Develop and implement plans for using Third-party logistics service providers (3PL) and Fourth-party logistics service providers (4PL)
  • Understand the importance of reverse logistics

Managing Customer and Supplier Relationships

Three (3) hour sessions

  • Categorize customers based on their profiles and needs
  • Understand customer loyalty and lifetime value of a customer
  • Establish measures of customer satisfaction
  • Understand the strategic importance of purchasing and supplier relationships
  • Establish a supplier rating system
  • Effectively use customer data to improve service performance and increase value to suppliers and customers



Using Information Technology to Enable Supply Chain Management

Three (3) hour sessions

  • Understand the role of data and information technology in support of the supply chain
  • Learn how technology-enabled supply chains contribute to business strategies and operating plans
  • Explore the IT infrastructure as it relates to the comprehensive set of supply chain management systems
  • Understand the innovative technologies enabling collaborative commerce and global visibility
  • Apply technology to enhance distribution, reverse logistics, and global supply chain communications
