XLC Certificate Programs Qualify for Economic Stimulus Funds
In today’s uncertain economy, the idea of free government funds available to retrain displaced or at-risk employees almost seems too good to be true. So The Xavier Leadership Center went to work to find out the inside story on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), and its availability for local professionals. The results may surprise you:
- $55 million in government funds have been allocated to services for adults and displaced workers in Ohio: Signed by President Obama early in 2009, the ARRA provides $138 million for Ohio to assist an estimated 20,000 adults, youth and dislocated workers with job training, job search assistance and other employment services. Of the funds being distributed, $19.9 million will support services for adults and $35.1 million for displaced workers.
- Retraining funds are earmarked for industry-recognized certifications and credentials: The retraining funds must be used to receive training toward a certificate program, such as The Xavier Leadership Center’s suite of ARRA qualified courses. This professional certification is intended to help workers enter a new field in a demand driven industry or advance their skill sets within their existing occupational area. Programs include:
- Project Management Certificate Program and
PMP Exam Review - Six Sigma Yellow, Green and
Black Belt Certificates - Senior HR Certificate Program
- Global Supply Chain and Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Exam Prep
- Business Management Certificate Program
- Executive Certificate in Financial Planning
- Project Management Certificate Program and
- Accessing the funds is easy—through the Xavier Leadership Center: To respond to employee need, XLC has created an easy-to-understand process to help eligible individuals apply for funds, complete all necessary paperwork and receive training at Xavier. And for ten or more employees, XLC’s programs can be delivered on-site anywhere in the state at your employer’s location.
- It pays to act fast. Funds are available now on a first-come, first-serve basis to eligible workers. Each application will be reviewed independently, so the State of Ohio is urging individuals and companies to act quickly. The Xavier Leadership Center has already helped DHL/ABX Air in Wilmington, OH maximize the benefits of this funding. Click here to read the article.
