A New Approach to Strategic Planning

For many of us, Organizational Strategy Development is seen as a complex task requiring an MBA or special training to complete. We can often get lost in the many templates, spreadsheets, matrices and other elements that constitute the process of strategic planning.
Sometimes we are too anchored in the present, quick to exclude strategic options when we turn too quickly to the mechanics of implementation and available budgets. The whole effort can become mechanistic, devoid of perhaps the most important element - imagination.
