Winter 2013 Newsletter

During this holiday season, I would like to thank all the wonderful people that support the Women of Excellence (WOX) program through attending our events, mentoring our students and as members of the Giving Circle.

At our award luncheon this past April, Father Graham committed to match every new donation made to the Women of Excellence Giving Circle and every additional dollar donation made to the Giving Circle above the donation made the prior year. Please consider joining the Giving Circle this year or if you are already a member, increasing your gift. We appreciate anything you can do and all dollars support student group and faculty projects on campus.

The Women of Excellence Endowed Scholarship stands at $90,000 thanks to our 11 founding members, our Giving Circle members and additional gifts that we have received. Please consider a gift directed towards this scholarship as every dollar increases the amount of money we can award to a deserving female student.

You can become a member by making your online contribution using your credit card or by sending a check made out to: Xavier University, 3800 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45207-5430, Attn: Anne Ernst. Please note "WOX" in the memo field.

As always, we welcome your insights and thoughts on how we as a community can continue to focus on our mission to honor, extend and advance the legacy of Xavier and Edgecliff's extraordinary women graduates, as well as provide opportunities for women to grow as organizational and philanthropic leaders for the University. Please share your input by emailing me at wox@xavier.edu or calling 513-745-2865.

Best wishes for a blessed Christmas and Happy New Year.

Kind Regards ,

Anne M. Ernst
Executive Director, Women of Excellence

Become a Mentor!

Advise and impact the next generation of leaders for as little as an hour per month. Now accepting applications for spring mentors.

We currently have 30 students that are in need of a mentor. We are making a big push to have all students matched with a mentor, by January 1st.

The bulk of our students need mentors in healthcare, advertising, law and sports marketing. But, we welcome mentors from a variety of industries because new students are always enrolling. No matter what your professional path, you might be a perfect match for a Xavier student in a totally unrelated field.

Visit the WOX web site to learn more about the program and how you can get involved or contact Sarah Brinker-Good, Coordinator, Mentor & Internship Programs, at brinkergoods@xavier.edu or 513-745-4335.
