Xavier Launch-A-Business / Concept to Reality

YOU BRING THE CREATIVITY AND PASSION. We supply the business expertise of 65 professors, 500 executive mentors and 1,000 MBA students from the Williams College of Business. The winners will get what they need to turn concepts into reality.

The competition is open to entrepreneurs, including college students, who want to start businesses, nonprofits and social enterprises.

The deadline for submitting entries for X-LAB 2011 has passed.

Entries for the third year of X-LAB will be accepted in spring 2012. Dates will be announced later.

Benefits for Winners of the X-LAB Competition

• Assignment of a faculty member and/or business executive to act as your business adviser.
• Consulting services for up to a full academic year -- nine months -- to assist with the development and launch of your business.
• Access to workshops, executive mentors and networking events.
• Feedback on the development of your business plan from a panel of business professionals.
• A meeting with potential investors.

2011 Winners Announced

X-LAB honored 10 winners on August 31, during an event in Smith Hall, home of the Williams College of Business. Now in its second year, X-LAB 2011 received 146 applications, and picked the winners using a rigorous evaluation process that included in-depth questionnaires and interviews. Faculty, MBA students and business executives selected the winners. More information can be found here.
