Faculty in the department place a premium on being excellent teachers and strongly believe in being accessible to students. Their goal is to provide the student a strong foundation in marketing and work with students to explore various career opportunities through internships and job opportunities. Xavier's marketing courses are challenging, interesting, and very application oriented. The marketing faculty are also active researches and have published in the following scholarly journals (among others):
To major in marketing, nine semester hours of specified marketing courses and nine semester hours of marketing electives are required in addition to the business core courses, university core courses, and electives. The required courses are: Marketing Research, Marketing Management, and Marketing Planning and Analysis. Electives are chosen from courses such as Industrial Marketing, International Marketing, Direct Marketing, Marketing Communications, Promotion-Advertising, New Product Development, and Consumer Behavior. Upon successful completion of the undergraduate program, students receive a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) degree in marketing. |
