Careers, Outcomes & Salaries

Finance consists of three interrelated areas:

  1. managerial finance, which deals with financial decisions within the firm
  2. investments, which involves the decisions of individuals and institutions as they select assets for their investment portfolios
  3. money and capital markets which focuses on how firms affect and are affected by the financial markets. The department offers courses in each of these areas and in these courses students are expected to develop and apply their analytical skills to identify problems, propose and evaluate solutions, and ultimately make management decisions.
