Michele Matherly received her Ph.D. from The University of Alabama, and her MBA and BBA from Radford University. Prior to pursuing a doctorate, she worked for a local CPA firm in Roanoke, Virginia. Dr. Matherly joins Xavier with 15 years of academic experience. Her research and teaching interests are in the areas of managerial accounting and accounting information systems. She has published over 25 articles in journals, such as the Journal of Information Systems, Advances in Management Accounting, Strategic Finance, and CPA Journal. Dr. Matherly is both a CPA (inactive Virginia) and a CMA.
