CareerLeader-College software provides a report on your unique
profile of interests, abilities and motivations. In addition CareerLeader-College
identifies a list of business-related careers that seem to fit
your interests and abilities. While no one can or should tell
you what to be or do, CareerLeader-College can get you started
with some suggested areas to explore in more detail.
Xavier's Career Services Center provides links to some excellent
resources for career exploration and decision making, as well
as for job search strategies.
Vault, a leading source of career information, allows students
to easily research employers, industries, and career subjects
with access to more than 90 online Career Guides and Employer
Profiles, 3,000+ Company Profiles and much more.
Students may schedule a time to meet with the WCB’s Career
Coach, Lynda Grossman, who is located right in Hailstones Hall,
second floor. Topics for one-on-one sessions may include career
decisions, resume and cover letter writing, internship and job
search strategy, networking, interview preparation, and evaluating
job offers. These individual meetings help to ensure that each
student’s career development experience is tailored to her/his
career and job search needs.

In this new online program designed specifically for college students and alumni, Tory Johnson, the founder and CEO of Women For Hire, offers smart tips and tactics in a 25-part, fast-paced web-based series. Each video segment offers a detailed, step-by-step guide on topics ranging from “networking skills” and “acing the interview” to “negotiating successfully” and “creating an effective online profile”. The two- to five-minute videos contain practical, no-nonsense advice and inspiration—designed to help smart, motivated new grads launch their careers, especially in challenging economic times where every bit of knowledge and know-how counts.”

NACElink is an online job board sponsored by the National Association
of Colleges and Employers, and free to students. Search jobs posted
for Xavier University and Williams College of Business students
and alumni. If you'd like, you can post your resume and apply
for positions via NACElink, similar to how you use eRecruiting,
or apply for positions offline using the contact information listed
in each posting.
InterviewStream provides you with the opportunity to practice
your interviewing skills before you're sitting in front of an
employer when it really counts. Using your computer's webcam,
this interview technology allows you to choose questions you'd
like to practice, record your responses, and email them for feedback
to the WCB career coach, or to your Executive Mentor or someone
else knowledgeable on interviews whom you've asked to give you
an honest assessment. If you don't have a webcam, WCB undergraduate
students can borrow one from the undergraduate office on the second
floor, Hailstones Hall.
