The Career Development Office is available to assist faculty and staff in meeting the career advising needs of the WCB students and alumni. Many of you have most likely been approached by students and alumni with questions related to choosing concentrations, updating resumes, finding internships or full time jobs. As a faculty or staff member, you can play a critical role in assisting students and referring them to the appropriate resources available. We encourage you to review the information presented on our website so that you may make appropriate referrals to our programs and services.
Often, our Office receives a number of questions regarding how to handle student and employment situations and requests to get career information to students. Below is information that can be helpful to you in these areas. If you don't find the answer you are looking for, feel free to contact us. For those items most relevant to the undergraduate student population, please contact Cindy Stockwell at email@example.com. For information regarding the MBA student demographic contact Cheryl Wilson at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to partnering with you as we work to ensure the success of our Xavier students!
Request a Presentation
In addition to the variety of workshops presented throughout the year, the PDC can be available to present for your class or student organization on a variety of career planning and job search topics. To request a workshop, contact either Cindy Stockwell or Cheryl Wilson at the email addresses given above.
Reference Letter Resources
As a faculty or staff member, many of you may be asked by students and alumni to serve as a reference or requested to write a formal reference letter during their job search. The information listed below is provided by the National Association of Colleges and Employers and can provide some assistance in evaluating the legal and ethical issues involved in providing references for job candidates and how to do so effectively.
Many of our faculty and staff members are networking with a number of local and national organizations. We encourage you to build strong relationships with these organizations and promote the hiring of Xavier talent. The Career Development Office offers a variety of resources for employers to connect with the Williams College of Business and Xavier University. Whether the employer's goal is to increase visibility on campus, fill open career opportunities or to create an internship program we are happy to work with them. Please refer any employers to either Annette Badik (Badika@xavier.edu) or Cheryl Wilson (email@example.com) we will partner with them to fulfill their recruiting needs.
