7 Questions Great Candidates Ask

At the end of the interview when you, the interviewer, ask the candidate, “Do you have any questions for us?” it’s often hard to know what to expect. Will the candidate ask a couple of superficial questions just to be polite, or will he or she ask deep, probing questions?

If a candidate appears to be simply going through the motions at this point, this is often a sign of a candidate who is not fully engaged with your brand and the hiring process. On the other hand, a candidate who probes and asks questions of substance is a more engaged candidate. The person is trying to form a picture of your business to see if it is the right cultural fit, job fit, technical fit and career fit for him or her. This more discerning approach is likely to be taken by the best candidates. But, what questions are these more engaged candidates likely to ask and how should you respond?

Xavier University Offers Summer Housing for Interns

Each summer, hundreds of students who have summer internships in the Cincinnati area call Xavier University home. If your organization sponsors summer interns who will need a great place to stay for the summer, consider this:

Xavier offers a variety of housing options at a variety of price points. Intern housing is available May 12th to August 10th in fully furnished, air conditioned and modern apartments that include free Wi-Fi, cable television and parking. Also, interns have the opportunity to meet and network with hundreds of other interns from schools around the country. Plus each intern will be provided with complementary web-based tools from BlackbookHR, a Cincinnati startup and partner of Xavier University. These will help interns connect with one another and Cincinnati to be able to feel more connected to the city in which they will be interning.

We can arrange housing directly with your organization’s intern coordinator, or you can opt to have your interns register and pay for housing themselves.

Let us help your organization by providing your interns with a great housing experience to compliment a great working experience in Cincinnati.

Foreign Language Courses

Xavier will be offering two sections of Chinese 101 in the fall: TR 2:30-3:45PM and 5:30-6:45PM.

Also, Fall Japanese 101 courses are MWF 2:00-2:50PM and TR 1:00-2:15PM. Summer courses for JAPN 101 and 102 courses are being offered over the summer. Both courses are taught by the same instructor (Mika Wolfford, who has been doing an excellent job with Japanese here for seven years, sending over 15 students to Japan to study or work).

Xavier is also offering online Latin 101 and 102 and GERM 101 and 102 over the summer.
